Some event leader’s thoughts on working with us…
Asma Salim, Islamic and South Asian Arts Leader
“Workshop Network has opened up new doors for me as an artist, as it’s given me the confidences to take my skills and work to a larger audience...I enjoy being part of a creative team...”
Charlotte Drew, Drama Leader
“Having worked as both an artist and for a city council, a resource like Workshop Network is incomparable. As the client, working with Workshop Network saves time. They have an invaluable database of artists with varied skills to meet the necessary need. Whatever the experience as an artist or the requirements of the client, they ensure the right match is made. Among others, I had the pleasure of working as an artist on a Gifted and Talented workshop week with a London based school and a group of very bright and entertaining young people.”
Adam Chung, Wrestling and Physical Theatre Leader
“In short, the team at Workshop Network makes my working life a lot easier, payments, logistics and everything but the leading of the event itself are well accounted for on my behalf.”
Sarah Jane Palmer Conceptual Arts Event Leader
"Workshop Network has been fantastic to work for and I have been working in areas outside of my local district. As an artist i haven't previously worked for an agent and have always done my own promoting and publicity and searching for work opportunities. With Workshop Network the difficult part of promoting and publicity is done for you. As most artists will be aware that negotiating with clients can sometimes be stressful but when working with workshop network you just turn up knowing exactly what is expected from you, how much your getting paid knowing you have full support from the agent if anything goes wrong."
Paul Hans Bennett, Drum Therapy. African Drum Circle Leader
“I find the operation of Workshop Network to be thoroughly professional. I have had a number of jobs through them and, I have to say that Workshop Network does care about the welfare of the artist, unlike some agencies who are just interested in maximum profit.”
Catherine Grimaldi, Arts and Crafts Leader
“As a professional artist who has been running workshops for 12 years it has been a pleasure running workshops for WN. They are always really well run and it is easy to discuss all aspects of the organisation before the day. Plus you always get maps of the venue which of course saves time. All these small details make it much easier and more fun on the day. I am really looking forward to my next one!”
Helen Humphreys, Circus Skills Leader
“Workshop Network has provided bookings for me that have helped to develop my professional skills whilst working within a field in which I am confident and comfortable. Their comprehensive website helps clients choose the right artist for their particular needs and we, the 'artists', have our own input on our workshop content and formats. Since joining for what I feel is a very reasonable membership fee, I have had a very positive experience with the company. The booking procedure is clear and simple...in the first instance; you will be contacted by Workshop Network to check availability and fees for any enquiries. Then, Workshop Network will negotiate terms with the client on your behalf. With phone, email and 'snail mail' (usually for contracts) communication at no point in the process is there room for confusion.
Workshop Network is one of the best agencies I have experienced and I would heartily recommend them to artists and potential clients.”
A Dee, Urban Arts Leader
“I have been working with the Workshop Network since early 2007 facilitating Aerosol Mural (Graffiti Art) workshops. Their friendliness, coupled with their caring and professional approach has greatly smoothed the way for me. Also, the fact that they are clear, concise and there at the end of a phone (or computer, in terms of e-mail) if and when needed, means that as an artist, I can rest assured that they are there for me. Considering the fact that I've been doing youth arts workshops for over 15 years now, whereas before I've had to do most of the organising, chasing-up and follow through, it is indeed a blessing to have someone like Workshop Network in your corner not only finding you appropriate work but also handling the business side, which means that I can just get on with being creative.
Payments are also prompt, so there's no running up 3 months worth of phone calls trying to get people to honour invoices! All-in-all, it's been great. They do what they do best, allowing me to focus on what I do best, which means that schools, youth clubs and other organisations that hire me can get the best out of me as an artist, so that they and the young people end up with the results of a project that they can be proud of. Definitely a Win-Win for all concerned!
I look forward to continually working with the Workshop Network in 2008, and beyond!” |
