Modern dance and contemporary composition take on the energetic excitement of a sporting
event in the electrifying “60x60 Dance.” This one-of-a-kind performance, where each minute of
the hour features a new composer and a new choreographer: 60 minutes featuring 60 dance
pieces set to 60 one-minute compositions. It might sound like a recipe for sensory overload
but 60x60 Dance has pleased audiences since 2007 in the U.S and in Canada.

Now 60x60 Dance celebrates its European debut this summer on Saturday July 24th. Where would be a better place for a mad concept such as this, than in London for Open Weekend 2010 as the
countdown to two years begins for the Olympic and Paralympic Games?

The brainchild of composer and producer Robert Voisey, 60x60 was originally conceived of
as an electronic music project. From its beginnings in 2003, 60x60 was a natural vehicle for
collaborating with other art forms. In 2007, 60x60 teamed up with choreographers and 60x60
Dance was born. The project in its many its forms has since grown successfully across the
globe in over 15 countries featuring more than 2500 artists and reaching an audience of more
than 5000 people.

East London Dance is joining forces with Robert Voisey, Dance Co-ordinator Adriana
Pegorer and Producer Silke Arnold to introduce 60x60 Dance to London audiences.
The show will involve more than 150 dancers with styles ranging from roller disco to bboying to
contemporary to salsa to BMX riding – with so much variety there is certainly something for
everyone. Dance makers are coming from all across London, the UK and the world – China,
France, the USA - to be part of 60x60 Dance here in London.

East London Dance is a perfect partner to co-produce 60x60 Dance having had a long and
outstanding track record as the driving force in London’s Dance industry for of innovative, risk-
taking and challenging concepts such as Blueprint, Stylefest, Local International and many more.
