1 Goal Education For All Campaign with MUNDI Global Voices and Workshop Network!
21/07/2010
Workshop Network recently worked along side the team at MUNDI Global Voices on a couple of workshops to fit in with the on going "1 Goal Education For All" campaign that is currently running nationally.
The workshops were based at Top Valley and Woodlands Schools in Nottingham and one of our workshop leaders, Diana Ali, worked as lead artist on the project and created wonderful results.
Around sixty participants from thirteen special schools joined in over two days to create flags, banners and bunting from around the world. It's tough to work with such large numbers at the best of times and we're really pleased to say that Diana did an excellent job as usual. The following feedback is from the event organiser Anna.
"Thank you for the work you did at Woodlands School with students from Woodlands and Westbury. I was pleased by the way you engaged them in an activity that was both challenging but achievable. The self-esteem of the students is very fragile and you really helped them work together with purpose and pride. It was the first time the morning group of students had come together and as a result of the successful outcome we may be able to build on that.
Thank you also for your work on Friday (Top Valley School) and gently involving all of the students, fitting around our slowly gathering group of students and staff. Your artistic skills helped us produce a lovely backdrop to the 1goal campaign and global citizenship work. Sorry it was such a hasty goodbye as you had to get to your next venue and I was busy organising. All the best with the rest of your projects."
We hope to lead further sessions as part of the 1 Goal Campaign and thank Anna for the feedback plus Diana for the hard work!
