Islam Expo 2008 featuring...

A short while ago Workshop Network was pleased to announce that one of our Islamic Art Workshop Leaders was due to facilitate sessions at London's Olympia as part of the Islam Expo 2008. Well Asma Salim returned from the Expo with very positive results and cracking feedback! Akemi Solloway (née Tanaka) is the daughter of an old samurai family and grew up immersed in the traditional arts and culture of Japan. Blues, Gospel and Field Song with Carlisle Community Support & Sunnie De Pass

The whole week went extremely well and we managed to visit all 44 schools which hosted workshops. As you can imagine, our time spent at each session was brief but we did have time to spend about half an hour with Sunnie at Belle Vue Jnr School and she was very impressive and the children fully engaged and very responsive.
